Markel Petty is the Chief Operating Officer and CFO of Direct Capital Securities, Inc. and oversees the royalty management and investor relations operations of an on-going energy fund with interests in over 14,000 oil and gas wells. Having consulted with over 40 companies to improve operations, processes, and systems, Mr. Petty brings 20+ years of experience in operations management and accounting with a wide variety of businesses, such as Celestial Seasonings, PPG Industries, and Barr Laboratories.
His role at Direct Capital Securities is to ensure we have the best systems and operations in place to support our Investors, Sponsors, & Representatives. His duties include formalizing accounting systems and assisting in devising strategies and infrastructure necessary to support our overall growth.
Mr. Petty is a 1984 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, where his applied studies were in Data Processing and Accounting. He recently graduated with honors from the Masters program at Southern Methodist University, where he was hired by the University as a teaching assistant for the accounting classes taken by first year executive MBA students. Mr. Petty holds a Series 27 license and is the registered Financial Operations Principal with Direct Capital Securities, Inc.
